Baseball ***MOXXIE*** Style

Moxxie's new line "All Star Baseball" is a smash hit. It is great for baseball AND perfect for patriotic pages celebrating America.

These pictures of my friend's son are so perfect for this line. Though I'm planning some 4th of July pages with these star spangled papers as well! This was an easy page to put together thanks to the easy to use Moxxie stickers and papers.
I love that Moxxie prints on the backside of the strips that tell the company and line. I used the strip with "baseball" over and over that is attached to the blue paper here. I also love that MOXXIE is so trendy and plays with the current cool arrows that I repeated with textured gesso on the page. I added some pop dots, distressing and journaling and I had myself a home run!

FAITH

I'm a practical gal. I make scrapbook pages because I can see the purpose of them- remembering moments of time and recording history, capturing youth and joy and heart ache, loving family and friends. I also love art- I really do see the value of a piece that brings forth strong emotion but I have yet to really work towards creating art for art's sake. I find it brave and bold those who do.

That being said, my friend Sonia enjoys creating art just for the sake of creation. Her art journals are spectacular and inspire me. They have even inspired me to start a prayer journal. Perhaps more a journal with scriptures and notes to capture the love I have for Jesus and that the Lord has for us.

Here is my VERY first page in my journal. I haven't even given the journal a name yet. Not sure it needs one. Maybe one will come to me later. I used the FAITH line by MOXXIE with a background of yellow paint. A few torn strips of paper glued on and the Bible Versus are already printed on lovely stickers by MOXXIE.

The torn strips reminds me that God does his best work with the broken. Throughout the Bible, those who are sinners and broken are those who God uses for the glory of his kingdom. What an inspiring message because I don't know a single unbroken, perfect human.

My artistic friend Sonia took the same MOXXIE Faith line and created this canvas. I love how the papers are versatile enough to work with a variety of colors. Look at the texture she created. And I get to hang this in my home!

Look at me- I'm making art!!

MOXXIE Hop - Days to Disney

Hey! It's May
and a beautiful time of year to share with you MOXXIE's 2015 Spring Releases!
Make sure you read to the bottom to find out how to WIN one of these fantastic NEW lines!!

Want to see what I made?
I found an idea on Pinterest and made it my own with this great Disney MOXXIE line.
I've reused this Dollar Store frame for some many parties and ideas. It's 8x10. I made a quick page to go in it. I pop dotted the yellow star in the corner, but under the glass, it really doesn't matter. Then a dry erase marker on the outer glass lets me count down and change daily. So fun!

I used the ever so popular Magical Moments!
This fun, bright, starlit line is sure to be a big hit with the little and big kids alike!
This line covers all of your magical moments at home or on vacation.

Now check out other neat ideas using these new lines!
You can leave a comment on each of our designers' blogs for an extra entry into our giveaway.

What's the prize you ask?
You can PICK which line you receive if you WIN!

How do I WIN you ask?

Usher Concert **MOXXIE**

These juicy colors on MOXXIE's Fun Run line called for a fun picture. Here is my friend Sarah being a cool mom and escorting her daughter Hailee and 2 friends to an Usher concert. I love that they made custom shirts for the event. Now that's cool!

The paint splats on the multi color paper look just like the colors on their shirts. The swosh gives it movement. You might notice that the curve of the swosh is the cut portion of the purple paper. I liked the organic line, so I kept it for the purple. I also misted the background for that extra little pop of color. The speech bubbles are colored felt.

I'll love you forever

I'm loving this new SPRING line from MOXXIE. It is so bright and cheerful. This picture is of my dear friend Sarah with her 2 kiddos. Aren't they all just lovely. This fresh photo reminded me of a happy day, so I scrapped it in a happy way.

I used the book verse, "I'll love you forever, I'll like your for always, As long as I'm living, My baby you'll be." Perhaps it was seeing these kids who were just babies a moment ago looking so grown up that inspired that quote. I had fun mixing the MOXXIE letters with hand journaling and a cork heart for interest in the title.

Here is a close up of my blingy flower too. For a touch of fun!

SPRING MOXXIE Blog Hop

Spring has sprung.
In sunny California where I live, kids are already swimming. The air is fresh and cool and flowers are starting to bloom. I love this season.

MOXXIE created this great line celebrating the joyful colors of Spring. The colors are juicy and fresh. I found some wood blocks and knew right away what I would do with them. I cut the MOXXIE Springtime papers into squares and adhered to all sides of the blocks. I painted some wooden letters yellow for a sunburst pop of color. Added some embellishments to the tops, sides and backs.

Wa la- a HAPPY SPRING decoration for my home in such lovely colors.
See what else the MOXXIE Muses created with this oh so pretty line.

Friends thru the Ages

I met Sarah in the 7th grade when I felt like a nerdy outcast and she was the popular flirt. Despite distance (we both moved in high school), we kept in touch. I was her Maid of Honor and she was mine. This picture is when she came to visit me when my youngest was born. It is so nice to have a friend who knows where you came from and sees the evolution of who you are.

To showcase this photo, I used MOXXIE's Springtime line filled with juicy, happy colors. The vibrancy of the line sings to me of friendship and youth.

I smeared paint on the background, then stamped over with more paint. Layered on the pretty Springtime papers and used MOXXIE letters that coordinate so well. A few embellishments here and there and the page was a breeze

Christmas Pups

Our dogs are truly members of our family so of course, they need to celebrate Christmas with us...whether they like it or not. I made both pages with MOXXIE's Happy Pawlidays.

In 2000, we have a white and red dog. For this simple page, I added some red paint to anchor the photos and the paper and stickers did the rest of the work for me.

Well, 13 years later both those beloved pups have passed away and we have 2 dogs again. Somehow, they are white and red again. We bought these doggy elf costumes for the 2 pets above (they hated them) and reused them in 2013 for these 2 pups.

Don't they look like the most unhappy elves ever? I must admit, it cracks me up!!

These papers can be used for doggy or kitty Christmas pics or just for Christmas pics without pets. But why? It's so much fun to include your pets...whether they like it or not.

Paintball SPLAT

My son's 11th birthday is this weekend. And his scrappy mama had to make him invites for his party. He wants to go paintball blasting with friends for his birthday party.

MOXXIE's Fun Run paper is a blast- literally. Look at the great color paint splats. Perfect for paintball. I cute the paint splat paper into splat shapes. A bit of inking and hand doodled border and I'm I'm all set!

Hope they have a blast shooting colorful paint at each other!

Pretty in Pink ***MOXXIE***

So MOXXIE sent me sample of their great new lines and I had pictures that were perfect for all of them...except Tiny Dancer which is all pretty and pink. As the mom of two sons and having no dance experience myself, I had nothing. Of course I could have just used the yummy colors for a friend's baby page or girls night out page or a sweet card. But then the same day I got my box of pretty papers from MOXXIE, my uncle brought over a box of old photos from Grandpa's and look- the perfect pink  tiny dancer!

This is my sister-in-law at age 6 in 1983. I do love a little girl in a tutu, don't you. The papers were so easy to use and the page really made itself. I doodled on some borders and added a bit of fluff and shine. The pretty papers make these old pictures sparkle!

MOXXIE Love

As a Christian, there is nothing greater than God' love. To showcase this overwhelming love, Christians are encouraged to be baptized in water and born again into God's family. Here is my friend Sarah recently being baptized alongside her children. What a blessing!

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Moxxie's new FAITH line is so soft and lovely with an accent of modern grey.

Who doesn't LOVE Love?
Moxxie wants to showcase their new lines with lots of love. And to share the love, there is even a lovely prize!

Scrapbooking about scrapbooking

When you have a passion, it's wonderful to find friends to celebrate that passion with. I'm guessing if you are reading this, then you too are passionate about Scrapbooking.

I met a group of women on scrapbook.com about 10 years ago and we became online friends. WOw- 10 years!! About 7 years ago, we talked about traveling to meet in person at a crop. The central local seems to be Michigan and Ohio. We made it happen. I can't attend every year (more like every other due to the cost of flights) but when I get to go, it's like I've known them forever. That is the joy of sharing something so personal like scrapbooking- something that celebrates family, friends, and every part of our self we want to remember and treasure and share.
We might get a little rowdy!

MOXXIE created a funky new line called Queen of the CROP. If you go to crops or just want to showcase some fun creativity, check out this line.
This page has a splash of black mist and uses the back of the scan code strips. It's simple but fun. I adore that purple paper!

For the next page, I used the size of the journaling cards to pic the size of my photos. But I had so many photos, I couldn't get them all on one page....so I made a book on the page. Simply using scrap card stock as a base, I made a fold out for more pics and those cool journal cards. I added a few paint rings and sequins (for that royal touch). I like how there is a scrapbook on a page of scrapbooking!!

Crop- closed

Crop- open to show more!

And one of the happy accidents that I simply adore is cutting out crowns and using them as journal strips to write names on, because we all want to be Queens of the CROP!

Slam Dunk!

My son played basketball a couple seasons. This is not his calling in life! But we got picture so of course, had to scrap them. This was a beginning league, so they didn't keep score. Best that way. ;) Here is my son and his team photo. The team lost most every game I think!! ;) And here is the medal he got to show for it. LOL.

I used MOXXIE's new Basketball line. It's perfect for b-ball pics.
Go team.

Blog Hop- MOXXIE new lines

Hello!
Thanks so much for joining us for Moxxie's 2015 Winter Release Hop!
We are SO excited to share all of these fabulous NEW lines with you!!

Here is what I did with the new Winery Line. Did I mention that I work at Cinnabar Winery? And LOVE to go wine tasting with friends. Here are some friends from college (20 years ago) getting together for wine tasting. The warmth of the line is awesome! The barrel board paper is awesome and the burgundy color is my fav! To give that mud look, I used gesso and brown paint and just blotted it on in a random fashion. Then added some black paint to darken it and added a bit more.
What can you create from grapes...I mean from this MOXXIE Winery line

Sketch it with MOXXIE

Sketches are a great starting point for a page. Add your own personal pictures and some great papers and your page can fall together with almost no effort. It almost feels like cheating its so easy! Here is the sketch that MOXXIE asked its designers to use:

And here is my page using the MOXXIE Winterland line:

I adore the colors of this line. I never thought to put purple with snow pics but it works so well. I also used some frosty transparencies to give that icy look and some white fuzzy stickers for the warm mitten feel. And well those 2 boys in the pics are just the cutest!
