Merry Music with MOXXIE

HaPPY HOliDays and MeRRy ChristMas.

These pics are of my sister and her family on Christmas morning. They are a very musical family. Hubby teaches music to minors and leads the worship team at church. A couple of her kids have toured the world in choirs and all know an instrument or 5. These joyful Christmas pics of the family playing music together just called for a wonderfully music line like MOXXIE's Musically Inclined. The colors are both cool and warm and really sing! A bit of tearing and inking added just the right roughness to the formality of the beautiful papers.

You can buy it online at scrapbook.com or ask your local scrapbook store.

Kindergarten Memories with MOXXIE

My boys are growing up and it is so apparent when I scrap pages from a few years ago (Is any scrapper ever caught up?!?). Here is my baby on his first day of Kindergarten. I used a combination of the current BRAINIAC School Moxxie line with the earlier School Zone Moxxie line. I adore how the colors are the same so they mix and match perfectly. They took a great line and built on it to make it fuller.

I used the School Zone "Eleventh" for the background and Brainiac "Make the Grade," "Bookworm," and "Brainiac Stickers."

And see that cute owl die cut? That was a RAK from Design Team member Renee Robbins. So cute!
Now let's see your school pics cropped with a MOXXIE school line!

Wizardry by MOXXIE

After Halloween, I'm anxious to scrap those pictures of costumes from the past. One year, my son was in love with all things Harry Potter. So for his Christmas present, we went to Orlando Florida's Universal Studios to the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter."

Moxxie has papers for that! The WIZARDY line is so warm and dark and fun.

This double page spread uses both the themed paper and stickers.
The first page is my boys entering the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" which is awesomely realistic to the movie and page two is us eating authentic English vitals at Hogsmeade restaurant complete with Butter Beer.

This line can still be purchases online.
and plenty of other online sites
or ask at your local scrapbook store if they carry Moxxie.

Yee Haw Stagecoach ***MOXXIE***

My sons were cowboys for Halloween. And that put me in the mood to do a cowboy page. The perfect paper- MOXXIE's Western Round-Up. I scrapped some "old" photos from 2000 for my mom. This is a family trip where we went to an Old West Town called Columbia and rode on the stage coach. Being held-up was definitely the highlight for the unsuspecting kids. I glued on hemp string for a lasso effect.

Although not really a double page spread, I like my left and right pages in my albums to coordinate. And I had more pics so I made another COWBOY page.

The paper is perfect as is, but that didn't stop me from altering it. To get that distressed look, I ran the center strip of paper and the edges of the mat under regular tap water. Don't be afraid. It makes the paper just right to wrinkle and alter and squish to lay flat. Then once dry, it gets a wrinkled leather look that is perfect for this page.

Want some cowboy paper for yourself?
Ask your local scrapbook store or look online.

The bright colors and patterns just sang party to me!
Now How about you have a look at more cards and hop on through MOXXIE cards today?

Magical Memory ***MOXXIE***

Hey Mickie, You're so fine, you're so fine- you blow my mind.

MOXXIE has some great lines- both new ones and older ones.
I found this line that is PERFECT for the Disney pictures that I'm currently scrapping.
They made it so easy. I scrapped this double pager in less than an hour.

Ask your local scrapbook retailer if they have MOXXIE in stock. It's so easy to use and packs a punch with great colors.

It's GO TIME ***MOXXIE*** style

I love to see a paper theme and twist it. It takes creative thinking to see Christmas paper and scrap summer park pictures with it. Sometimes, scrapping for me is just playtime.

This page uses the new #MOXXIE line RACING. I used the orange B side of the "Racing" paper and cut the black "Motorcross" paper for the base. Then I splashed yellow paint all over and added some random embellishments. This page even leaves room for 3 tags of journaling about my son at this age.

So your challenge- twist you next project. You don't have to play by any rules. No "scrapbook police" will "get you." And have fun with it.

Need for Speed

Moxxie created a RACING line that is full of bold color.

What better pics to use then race car pics. But my son doesn't race....or does he?

Looking through some Amusement park pictures, I found these snaps of my boy and his buddy Elyza in a race car ride. Zroom, zoom. He loves this ride and now I love these pictures now that they are paired with such fun colors, papers and elements.

The stickers from this RACING line are seriously fun and easy to use. They do all the decorating for you!

Lumpy, bumpy Modeling Paste

Mold grows on cheese. I like cheese. I like molding paste.

Check out what I made using MODELING PASTE.
The first time I heard someone call it molding paste, I assumed they meant modeling paste and were just saying it wrong. Until I bought some.

I use both  &

All the above were created with plastic templates. I then used a plastic knife to smear on the modeling paste and removed the template and let dry. Two I left white. Several I used color mist sprayed over to alter the color. To create the yellow stars I added yellow ink into the modeling paste before spreading it on. All are rough and lumpy and imperfect- just how I wanted them!

Volleyball? Having fun with MOXXIE

MOXXIE just put out a bunch of new lines. They alway have some great sports lines. I showed off the Football line last week. Well they have this fun, playful Volleyball line. I don't have any Volleyball pictures....but that did not hold me back.

Here's what I started with - Volleyball by Moxxie
And here is what I did with it. The rainbow paper just sings joy so I had to use that all. Then the fun yellow and grays in varying shades add to the page.
Admittedly, I wanted to get funky with techniques before I started so I inked on the arrows from a mask. Then I spread Modeling Paste over a template of circles. Once dry, I misted that with yellow. I think the yellow circles mimic balls to me and are a nod to the line being a sports line even though I used a playground pic of my son. I must admit, I sloshed glue all over the page while trying to glue down the twine, but you know what? I'm okay with that. Scrapping isn't about perfection. For me its about the memories and the process of creating.

I had fun with this line and I think the page reflects that.

Are You Ready for Some Football?

Just got some of the new paper lines from MOXXIE and boy, am I excited to create with these.

Looking back in time, I found this pic of my son a year ago playing "football" with his Daddy. Maybe someday he'll play "real" ball, but for now a day at the park is all this Mama can handle.

Moxxie created a super sporty line called Grid Iron. I distressed edges and added some metal brads and a little wooden word embellishment to round out the page.

I love how these papers have such strong contrasting colors- the browns, greens and creams really pop. I'm a huge fan of this sticker set too. It creates the fun for you.

So, are you ready for some football? Or maybe ready to scrap some football?

Autumn Glory & Awesome MOXXIE Newness

So MOXXIE is releasing 7 awesome new lines. I want to show off the gorgeous, deep, rich, warm line called Autumn Glory. It has great stickers (I plan to do so many more pages with this line just to get a chance to use the beautiful stickers I haven't yet taken advantage of).

I couldn't hold back and had to create not 1 but 2 pages with these beauties.

My first son first- look at him and his buddies playing in the fall leaves. We don't get that chance enough in California where I live. I just love the rich flowers floating across one of the pages so while watching TV, I fussy cut them and overlapped them over the photo and some textured burlap. There really is so little I needed to add as the colors and beauty of the paper alone is stunning.

My second son second. Here he is in Indian headdress. I loved all the rich colors so I did a triple mat to show off the depth of colors. Added some texture with burlap and skeleton leaves (old timer scrappers remember those) and a bit of bling. I love flourishes and wanted to show them off a bit by adding my journaling along one of the wavy lines.

Now go check out more of the awesomeness using ALL the new MOXXIE lines!
Your inspiration list:

Little Mountain Man **MOXXIE**

I've gone camping every summer of my life since I've been alive. And now that I have my own little family- we camp together too. One of my husband's favorite activities is hiking. This MOXXIE line called Happy Camper is just that- HAPPY!

For this Hiking page, I used rough, distressed edges. I misted the green with "dirty" brown and inked edges of photo mats in green and brown.

I loved the trees on one patterned paper but wanted a green background. Easy solution- fussy cutting. It's inexpensive and can be done in front of the TV.

I'm in love with that family photo right now. Isn't my family cute?

Summer Blog Hop with MOXXIE - PRIZE available too!

Hello!

Welcome the the Summer time fun Moxxie blog hop!

Summer to me is all about great weather and relaxing fun. Living in California means sunshine and beaches. This fun, relaxed line from MOXXIE features beautiful colors. Beach Bum with great die cuts.

Surfer Boy- my son has grown his hair out for a "surfer" look. He's got those beautiful golden locks too.
I'm all about adding that little extra something to a page- an unusual technique, recycled embellishment or just a mix of products. So this page is actually different for me. It uses ONLY the MOXXIE beach line and my photos. With great colors and papers like this, it just doesn't need anything more!

Today our talented designers are going to show you fun summer projects using many different lines. So let's hop right to it shall we? Here is the list of blogs to check out:

Kitty Kitty

Previously I made a page for my cousin Alicia using MOXXIE's Paws & Claws line. The line features cats & dogs and yet I made it neutral. I wanted to try it again, but this time using the cat theme. I used another pic of my cousin Alicia for her graduation album. This pic came from her Facebook page (love that kids post stuff for us to use now a days).

This playful pic of her with kitty whiskers and nose just begged for the Claws & Paws line.
Look how great the rub-on of the kitty is (these are high quality rub-ons unlike SOME that bite).
And for a little fun touch, I had to add a cat scratch. To create, I cut with an Exacto Knife then just wiggled and wiggled the knife in the cut to rough it up and give it distressed definition.
If you want to buy this line, I found it for sale at www.scrapnesia.com
